Liftbag Design

Where Quality Begins...

It all starts with rolls of specially formulated MS4000 material. MS4000 is a high strength nylon coated with highly abrasion resistant urethane polymer compounds which are resistant to direct contact with diesel, gasoline, oils and chemicals. Cut goods are radio requency welded at 50 lb/in using state of the art custom RF welding equipment. The RF welding of all seams, joints, strapping harnesses, D-ring supports, and strap pockets combined with the high puncture resistance of the polymer fabric (1200 lb/in) means you are purchasing the ultimate fabrication available today. MS4000 fabric is featured on all Prolift commercial grade underwater liftbags as well has our 12, 16, 20, & 40 ton Pneumatic Aircraft Liftbags.

If It's Octagon, It's Prolift!

PROLIFT bags, Inc. uses the innovative design of the "OCTAGON" on the ends of our PROLIFT cylindrical pontoons. This design reduces the possibility of leakage in the finished product. Other manufacturers using cylindrical tops and cylindrical ends and are faced with leaking issues before the product is even manufactured. Here is why! During the manufacturing process of open bottom and cylindrical pontoons, the body of the liftbag is placed upon a form to have the top or the end welded onto the body. When using a round or cylindrical top or end, in order for the welding process to begin many V grooves must be cut in the fabric to have the fabric lay flat before the welding of the top or end can take place. The larger the diameter of the top or end the more V grooves must be cut. Every V Groove is a potential LEAK waiting to happen! Example: a 100 lb. liftbag with a top diameter of 16" would have 25 potential leaks, a 20,000 lb. liftbag with a top diameter of 93" would have 146 potential LEAKS. With our "OCTAGON" design it is plain and simple. There are only 8 corners to an octagon, when a body is placed on an octagon form only 8 cuts are made to let the body fabric lay flat.. Furthermore the fabric lays on top of one another allowing it to be welded together to seal the corner prior to welding the top or end. Now the breakdown of potential leaks is as follows: a 2000 lb. Cylindrical pontoon liftbag with an 44" diameter end has only 8 potential leaks, a 12,000 lb. cylindrical pontoon liftbag with a end diameter of 77" has only 8 potential leaks, plain and simple. Our "OCTAGON" is the most innovative in liftbag design in the past 30 years, sure other manufacturers have been around longer however PROLIFT has become the leader and the future in design and technology!
